Every year for my birthday, I try make myself a crazy cake. This year I came up with the idea to make a terrarium trifle. I pulled out my my mother’s trifle bowl and layered it with chocolate rocks at the bottom. Then I added crushed pretzels, broken up brownies, chocolate pudding, another layer of brownies and then a layer of lemon sponge coloured to look like moss. The cake toppers were succulents made from fondant.
